We are the Musicians of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra
Update on Negotiations: The musicians of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra reluctantly approved the management’s latest three year proposal on October 22nd, 2006. A key to the musicians’ acceptance of the proposal was Management’s agreement to commit to an improved pension. A committee will begin meeting within the oversight of the Syracuse office of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service to determine how this can best be accomplished. The embarrassingly inadequate pension presently in place reflects a lack of respect for our profession and disregard for the right of our musicians to retire with some degree of dignity.
